When, how much, and how do I pay?
- One time payment of £590 to cover your website creation is made once the website is set up, online, and following a Zoom training session (1h30 – 2hrs) to enable you to add and manage the content of the website yourself. This payment includes 1 year’s domain name + hosting + technical support, to help you with any web enquiries you may have in the first year. If no payment is made 3 months after the website is set up we will consider that you do not wish to go ahead with the website and will disconnect it.
- Annual payment of £59 to cover domain name + hosting renewal + Technical Support. This starts 1 year after the date at which your website was set up.
How will I be billed?
Billing is done by email and payment is made by bank transfer. If after 2 months your invoice is not paid a reminder will be sent you. If payment is not received after 3 months we will assume your activity has stopped and your website will be disconnected.
Can I order extra domain names?
Yes – some hypnotherapists may wish to purchase additional domain names forwarded to their website (.com .org or .uk etc) – these cost £18/year/additional domain name payable in advance.
Can I change my domain name?
Yes, this can be done at any stage. Your email will also be updated. Changing your domain name incurs a technical intervention charge of £60.
Who is the Registrant of my domain?
By default whenever CPHT Websites (Registrar) secures a domain name with IONOS we declare CPHT Websites to be Registrant (owner) of the domain at Nominet. This is for purely practical reasons so that our clients don’t receive technical emails from Nominet they would not know how to deal with. You can however choose to be declared Registrant of your domain at any time should you wish to.
Can I change my website’s theme?
Changing your theme to a theme other than GeneratePress is not possible as we would no longer be able to provide Technical Support nor resolve any issues arising from a different theme. If you wish to change your website theme then you would need to transfer your domain to a different Hosting account.
Can I allow a third party website provider to manage my website?
Again, allowing your website to be managed by a third party website provider is not possible as we would no longer be able to provide Technical Support nor resolve any issues arising from a different website to the one we set up. If you wish a third party to manage/update your website then you would need to transfer your domain to a different Hosting account.
What if I already have a website ?
If you already have a website and want it upgraded to a CPHT WordPress website then the initial cost is £590 + £18/page or post to cover recreating existing pages, testimonials, articles, links etc. and importing existing text/photo/meta content into the new website. We will provide you with a quote beforehand based on your existing website. The files for the new website are installed on our 1and1 IONOS servers, and we will need to transfer your current domain to our 1and1 IONOS hosting package. This is easy to do and we take care of the transfer ourselves.
What if I already have purchased a domain name(s) ?
If you have already purchased one or more domain names with another Domain name provider (123Reg, Godaddy, 1and1 or whoever) then we will need to transfer the main website domain name to our CPHT Websites 1and1 hosting account to set up the new website. This is a simple procedure that we take care of ourselves. You do not have to transfer all your third party domains to us – just the main website domain. The others can be left with the third party provider and we will set up a simple domain forward from them to the main domain.
Can I recuperate my domain name?
You reserve the right to recuperate your domain name at any time should you wish to transfer your domain name to another Hosting Provider or separate 1and1 Hosting Package. CPHT Websites is not responsible for the domain name once it is transferred out of our hosting, and please note that when domain are transferred out any email accounts associated with the domain name are deleted. CPHT Websites reserve the right to cancel a domain name if the annual hosting and domain name renewal fee of £59/year is not paid 2 months after billing.
How do I cancel my domain name / hosting?
You can cancel your domain name / hosting renewal at any time at no extra cost at which point your website is taken offline. No reimbursement is made for the months remaining till the end of the renewal period, and you are responsible for retrieving all content of your website should you wish to recreate it with another Host Provider. You can ask CPHT Websites to release your domain name to you should you wish to incorporate it into your own hosting package, or allow us to cancel the domain name.
What happens if CPHT Websites discontinues?
In the event of discontinuation of business we will give you 6 months notice to give you time to migrate your website over to another provider. We also reserve the right to remove a website from our hosting if we feel there is a conflict of interest.
How much webspace is available for my website?
Your website can have up to 2GB of Database storage and use 10,000 files. This is easily sufficient for standard websites.
Will I be on the first page of Google?
Being powered by WordPress and Responsive (mobile friendly), your website already scores points with Google, and there are also some simple steps you can take which will improve your page ranking (see Making your site SEO friendly). In addition, we install an SEO plugin on your website which allows you to Edit the SEO title and description of your “Google snippet”. However, the actual SEO ranking of your website depends on a host of factors exterior to CPHT Websites (how well written and informative your website is, how often you post articles on your Blog, incoming links, age of website etc), and CPHT Websites is not responsible for Google page rankings.
Where can I find images for my website?
For free images we recommend pixabay.com / unsplash.com / pexels.com. Their images are released under the Creative Commons CC0 licence and may be used freely for websites and printed format. The licence does NOT include the right to use Trademarks, logos, or brands / People’s images if they are recognizable / Works of art or authorship that appear in photos without consent (see model Release Restrictions for Pixabay and Unsplash) so it is advisable to use landscapes, objects, plants, abstract images etc. instead.
Who is responsible for the website images and content ?
CPHT Websites does not supply text/image content for website and you remain responsible for ensuring your have the right to use any text and images which appear on your website. You are responsible for any content/image copyright infringement issues which may arise otherwise. We also invite you to view the IONOS 1and1 Website Acceptable Use Policy. We reserve the right to disconnect any websites which infringe the IONOS Website Acceptable Use Policy.
